How your support will work to make a difference:
Anugrah Children Home was established in 1996 by Dr Ila Paul. It is not only a hostel for children but also a special school for underprivileged children, offering programs for growth and development to marginalised children in slums.
The vision is to provide these children with a better future through health and nutrition, moral development, education, and social development.
To date, apart from many other initiatives, QCCT has provided solar installations at both the school and residential premises. QCCT also set up a computer centre, enabling children to gain technical training and improve their skills. At the same time, the centre has become self-sustaining by teaching other children from local villages.
Currently, QCCT is assisting with the expansion of school rooms to meet the growing demand for classrooms. This expansion will also allow children from surrounding slums and communities to attend classes in a proper environment.
The economic conditions of these communities are very poor, with many families living in unhygienic conditions. Anugrah’s aims are:
- To complete the expansion of the premises to enable more children within Anugrah and the wider community to utilize the school rooms in a clean and hygienic environment.
- Encourage self-sustainability
- Educate and facilitate the all-round development of underprivileged children
- Skill development in information technology
- Vocational training in hygiene, cooking and handicrafts.
